Dr. Fang Yuan

Dr. Yuan is a well-known expert in the TVindustry in China. He is currently the Chairman of Kuaidao Federation, and aboard member of China Youth Development Foundation. Kuaidao has been supportedby the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television of China, and MediaStrategy Consultant for many Chinese leading companies such as Anhui RenhePharmaceutical Co. Ltd and JianUCICICu Longliqi Bio-tech Co.Ltd. Dr. Yuan was aProfessor of the Advertising School at the Communication University of China.  

 

Professor Yuan is the first person to applythe “Audience Flow” theory to  China’s TVindustry in 2001, and it quickly became the mainstream guidance of commercialplanning strategy for TV channels in China. As an expert on revision of TVchannels, show planning, commercial marketing, etc., Professor Yuan works as a consultantfor over 10 TV networks in China such as China Central TV, Hunan TV, andShanghai Oriental TV. Besides being involved in strategic planning and revisionfor the China Central TV and local TV channels, he is also the chief plannerfor a lot of nationwide popular TV shows such as Super Vocal Girls, CollegeDream, Spring Arrival 2007, Happy Vocal Boys, and the 2008 Beijing OlympicSpecial TV shows. 

He graduated from Tsinghua University witha B.A. in Sociology and a B.S. in Environmental Engineering. Professor Yuanthen pursued his M.A. and Ph.D. in Sociology from Renmin University in Beijing.After that, he went for postdoc studies in Industrial Sociology at HisotsubashiUniversity in Japan. In 1995, he returned to China and served as Director ofResearch Centers for Social Research at the State Science and TechnologyCommission. In 2000, he served as Director of Media Research Division at ChinaCentral TV Market Research Co. Ltd. From 2002 until now, he is the professor atthe Communication University of China.
