The American Culture & Tourism Management Program(ACTM Paid Internship Program)

Approved by the U.S. Department of State, United Cultures Innovation Center for International Cooperation (UCIC), Virginia Wesleyan University and Bush Gardens Williamsburg Virginia Theme Park launched the American Culture & Tourism Management Program.

Program Schedule:Two programs per year (Spring and Summer)

Spring program is from March to August, and the registration deadline is Mid-December of the previous year.

Summer program is from July to December, and the registration deadline is Mid-April.

Target Students:University/college undergraduate students

Program Features:

Cross-crediting between American and Chinese universities + Internship opportunity in famous enterprises + Live in a safe community. The program consists of two parts: study and paid internship. The program is organized and managed by UCIC. VWC interviews and admits students, provides J-1 visa, medical insurance, and arrange class and internship schedules for students, as well as 20 credits hours from the university. Busch Gardens Williamsburg offers the internship positions, insurance and accommodations.

Busch Gardens Williamsburg is the subsidiary of Sea World Parks and Entertainment, which will build many large amusement parks in China and Dubai in the future. ACTM’s internship experience will offer the most valuable experiences for future career!

This is not a regular college study tour program, but a paid internship and learning opportunity!

Teaching University

Founded in 1961 and located in Virginia, Virginia Wesleyan University is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education. The university offers not only on-campus instructional courses, but also a variety of off-campus learning opportunities, such as internships, field trips, community services and study abroad programs. At Virginia Wesleyan University, all of the faculties and staff focus on the students and encourage them for every step of their life journey. They are not only teachers who educating the students, but the leaders and motivation to help them to achieve success.

Internship Institute

Busch Gardens Williamsburg is one of the America’s most popular theme parks. Busch Gardens is a park that combines roller coasters, flowers and plants and other natural landscapes, as well as a variety of exciting performances. The buildings of the park is based on European architectures and are divided into Scotland, Ireland, France, Germany and Italy. There are also many adventure playgrounds for children inside the Gardens. The most attractive one is the Sesame Street, and children comes here to meet their idols. Busch Gardens is a high-quality theme park and has been named America’s Most Beautiful Theme Park for 22 years. The Gardens is divided into six areas, which including entertainment, restaurants, stores and so on. Williamsburg is one of America’s oldest cities and one of the most popular tourist destinations on the east coast of the U.S.. Students live in a motel-style residence hall, which is exclusively for employees. The community has entertainment facilities, kitchens and an internet café. Transportation from the residence to the Gardens is provided for interns.

Housing:

Interns live in the International Housing Village (IHV), offered by Busch Garden. The community is covered by Wi-Fi signal and has kitchen, laundry, television, fitness room, swimming pools and other facilities. The community has 24-hour maintenance and security patrol. All residents need to provide ID for in and out; and the late returns is controlled rigidly. Interns come from the U.S., the U.K., South America, Southeast Asia and other parts of the world. The community organizes events and activities regularly to encourage communication among residents.
